NSF rapid response funding for COVID-19 research (rolling deadline)

April 13, 2020

National Science Foundation: Dear Colleague Letter on COVID-19

Deadline: Rolling
NSF is accepting proposals to conduct non-medical, non-clinical-care research that can be used immediately to explore how to model and understand the implications of COVID-19. Funded projects have included research on the social and behavioral impact of COVID to implications of the Coronavirus for prejudice, cultural change and health. RAPID proposals may be for up to $200K and up to one year in duration. Researchers may apply through existing funding opportunities or use the Rapid Response Research (RAPID) funding mechanism. All questions should be directed either to a program officer managing an NSF program with which the research would be aligned or to rapid-covid19@nsf.gov. You can view recently funded RAPID awards here and learn more about NSF’s increased funding to fast track COVID-19 research in Science. Only internal merit review is required for RAPID proposals and the review process is expedited to ensure a quick turnaround. Questions about this opportunity may also be directed to Susan Gomes, sgomes@fas.harvard.edu.
