Newly-minted PhDs (from Harvard and elsewhere) who have demonstrated excellence in teaching can apply for the FAS College Fellows program, which pays an annual salary for teaching (usually three courses per year) in specified areas of specialization, while also providing opportunities for research and career development; these are one-year appointments, renewable for a second year depending on instructional needs. The first postings usually appear in mid-January each year.
Postdoctoral positions are usually advertised on the Harvard Academic Positions portal. Both current and prospective postdoctoral fellows should visit the website of the FAS Office of Postdoctoral Affairs for additional useful information.
Scholars with a doctorate or equivalent professional experience may be eligible to apply for Visiting Fellow status at Harvard University's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS).
A number of the Division's research centers offer competitive fellowships in specialized areas of study for postdocs or visiting scholars.
